Babymum runs solely on the generous spirit of our team of volunteers. We have people from all walks of life participating in our programs, giving various amounts of time. We are always pleased to speak with people interested in helping out and would love to talk to you about where you might fit. Check out our different areas below and the descriptions of the types of roles that we have. If something interests you, we have an opening for you!

Babymum works with vulnerable people and children and you will need to have Working with Children Registration. We can help you get that organised. We also require participation in the Child Safe program which will form part of your ongoing training and development offered as part of working with Babymum.

Making connections with new mums is what you love to do! Meet new mums on Tuesdays and develop relationships on Myday Friday or just catch up for coffee when it suits. This is an important and rewarding role within Babymum.

We need caring people to care for babies and toddlers. In an adjoining room, you’ll provide quality play experiences for the children while their mums catch a bit of quiet chat, do a craft or do some study. Fridays once a month, generally in the morning.

Do you work in a related field to maternal and child health, education, social work or pastoral care? We are always looking for professional contacts to run small groups or give advice.

Do you love to connect and network, plan events, or write funding applications? We need extra team on our self funding activities.

Do you have spare time to photograph some of our precious new mums and babies, celebrating life events? Photography is an important part of valuing our babymums and like any family, we love to take photos! Contact us if you’d like to do some voluntary photography and gift some babymums with treasured memories.

Perhaps you are an artist or enjoy handicrafts. We are always on the look out for talented people to run short workshops with our babymums.

There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure Babymum’s programs run smoothly. If you have skills in administration, communication, human resources, social media, graphic design, marketing, small business, social enterprise and other features of a non-government organisation, we can find you somewhere to contribute.

Babymum operates with a board of management model, however we are developing an advisory board and would appreciate the consideration of professionals and leaders in the community to contribute to the ongoing development of Babymum. Commitment would be 6-8 meetings per year to vision plan, develop strategies for fundraising and strengthen connections with other community organisations. Perhaps you have served on boards before and have a heart for the work of Babymum. We’d love to hear from you.
